I have invested & enjoyed the last 16+ years working on building brands, across two mammoth & strategic consumer geographies – India and China. I enjoy observing & learning the finer details of consumer behavior, the quintessential role of societal structures, the nuances of brands in modern culture, and on a larger scale, the perceived joys of consumerism.

I was born & brought up in India. I am a Honours graduate in Physics, and an MBA with specialization in Brand Marketing. I have been based in Shanghai, China for the last decade, and I started Alternative-Brands to focus majorly on brand driven business growth: where building brands brings in fresh streams of revenue, but also makes businesses more human and impact societal goodness.

In addition to my daily work, I work heavily as a mentor with VCs and Accelerators. I mentor with SOSV (Now Orbit), XNode (Shanghai) and ANTLER (Singapore) on their B2C start-ups in consumer space, inc. consumer tech.

Before starting Alternative-Brands, I have held Brand & Strategy positions in these Fortune 500 companies, which taught me a lot of solid basics.
1-on-1 mentoring: My personal project.
Having spent my whole career on building & running brands, and continuing to build my career in the same, I find a lot of personal joy in guiding new age talents, founders, and young leaders towards their vision of creating value. By value, I don't just mean revenue - I also mean the value of work and thinking they are bringing into this world. Nothing excites me more than solving problems for them, validating their thinking, and influencing their decisions with my objective point-of-view.
